This is a little thing I pulled from my imagination. The Walnut came from band saw cutoffs of another project
He stands about 7” tall.

Now that’s just to good. I would have never thought of carving that penguin using the water as the stand. Great job!

Now you’ve done it, Dick! All my scraps want to go to your house and I’ve got plenty scraps! Do you know how much that’s going to cost me? LOL.

You have a great imagination!

That is just to my liking. Leaning toward art. The fluid and sensual lines are something that I am attracted to. I just love it.

This is a carving, but it wasn’t done with knives, or chisels. This was done mostly with my belt sander. It’s just another way of removing the wood that doesn’t look like a Penguin.

Dick, one of the major nature attractions not far from where I live is the Penguin Rookery on Phillip Island. Thousands of tourists each year visit this place to watch little Penguins come in from a day’s fishing to feed their young. Here’s a picture.

I love to watch Penguins, they had them at the Como park zoo in St. Paul, MN. They put on a fascinating show with their antics.

When I made this, the only picture I used was in my mind. It kind of started out as a Seal, but then I added the wings. I guess you could call it a Sealquin.

Careful Mike doesn’t sand something like that on his lap. He had bad luck with belt sanders.
