Here is a fun project that I recently finished. They only take a few hours and are great for using up scrap wood.
I’ve done a half dozen or so of these over the past couple of years. They make great gifts for the gardener in your life. They are mostly just decorative and also can make a great place for flower pots.
The second photo is one I did last year and has aged rather nice.
If you’d like to make your own here's how I do them

Ted, Super idea, with your permission think I’ll try to fit one of these into my next months schedulel. I simply love this idea and will add a nice touch to the area by the pond. I have a Robin that for the past 3 years has made her nest on my front porch. 1st year she made it on top of the porch light (its a wall mounted one to the right of the doorway) for three days she’d make her nest, I’d take it down, 2d day she had a parital nest made I took it down, was afraid of a fire because of it being on the light, We went to the store and by the time we had gone about 3 hrs, she had a total nest made. Well we decided with her persistence SHE Won. 2nd year she made it in the wife’s plants on the side porch railings. This year I was ready for her and she’s made her nest on the perch that I attached to the side of the house, under the porch of course. It has gotten so that we look forward to seeing her each spring. Keep the projects coming, I love checking them out.

pappyjohn, no need to ask permission! However, you are required to post photos of it when you’re done. LOL! Looking forward to seeing it! Perhaps it will bring more Robin friends around. :)
