Saw one of these made out of aluminum and painted, decided i could make one that had a lot more character. These were made out of 3/4 Oak glued up then cut down to 1 1/4. The Inlays were done with Wenge. I used suede for the grove linings. Each of the grooves was a simple dado cut on the table saw at a few different angles. i tried a few different finishes, wipe-on poly, Danish oil, & and light stain with a oil rub over it.
