Modern Cherry Lamp

I had an older wood lamp that I had been wanting to replace. So I started looking online and various places and landed on a design similar to this on Pinterest. This is all from cherry, stacked and glued. I used the components from the old lamp for this lamp. There is a groove on the bottom of the bottom block for the cord to run out.

Enjoy

Jim – very well done! That’s a great job on the finish. You have taken a basic design and made it stunning. Hat’s off to you sir.

I like the idea behind this lamp, as well as the execution. Take lots of little cutoffs, or make little cutoffs, then drill them and glue them up. And I definitely like the fact that you used various thicknesses of wood, rather than all the same thickness. I think that adds a lot of interest and helps to break up the look of it.

I like it, but my wife just made comments about dusting …
I think it is a great way to use up some of those cutoffs in the scrap bin.

@ Grumpymike,
The traditional method of dusting would certainly be tedious. I think a Swiffer Duster would be the easiest and best way to dust something like this.

Yes, that’s how I’ve been dusting it…........with a Swiffer!

A shot of compressed would also work for dusting! That’s how I dust.
