These were a lot of fun to make. The woods I used were Walnut, Alder, & Cherry. I finished them with five coats of Minwax Marine Spar Varnish in clear gloss. The net bags are rubber, which is easier on the fish for catch and release fishing. They are laced to the frames with 200lb braided Dacron line. I made the net retainer lanyards myself using 550lb Paracord and some knots I learned by watching YouTube videos.

Greetings, New to the site as of today as I was ‘searched’ to your Project when looking to purchase a plastic fish net. They look super. Are they for sale or was this for just persoanl use? Thanks.

Hi Talis, Welcome to Lumberjocks.com These nets were for personal use. I ended up giving two of them to family members as Christmas gifts.

You should check out this link to inquire about purchasing a custom net. Greg makes much nicer nets than I do. http://lumberjocks.com/Fishfreak911/projects

Good fishing!

Regards,

Retsof

Hate to look like the rookie, but someone has to. Whats the process to make one? Pics of jigs ect?

They ARE beautifully done. I have 2 neighbors who are older and fish all the time-I’d love to make them each one as gifts.
