I saw some of Marks canes and they reminded me of one I made. I call this Gonzo. This a cottonwood natural root and stem that I striped the bark and carved the twist. For the finish I took a torch and scorched the darker spots then used a light stain.

This is a beautiful cane. The carving adds visual interest to it. Very nicely done.

The head on it looks like gonzo from the muppets after turning his head around in circles watching a tetherball wrap a pole. There is a lot of character in this one. Great project and conversational piece.

OH yes!!!! I have a knee that needs replaced but I am putting it off. I’d rather limp around the bases. :) LOL!
