Twisted cane

Project by Roger Strautman posted 572 days ago 367 views 0 times favorited 9 comments Add to Favorites Watch

I saw some of Marks canes and they reminded me of one I made. I call this Gonzo. This a cottonwood natural root and stem that I striped the bark and carved the twist. For the finish I took a torch and scorched the darker spots then used a light stain.

Rodger A very nice looking cane. Are you holding it for your old age?

Roger,

This is a beautiful cane. The carving adds visual interest to it. Very nicely done.

Thanks for the post.

The head on it looks like gonzo from the muppets after turning his head around in circles watching a tetherball wrap a pole. There is a lot of character in this one. Great project and conversational piece.

Hi Roger;

Nice job on making that walking stick.

Does your body really fall apart at 45? LOL
