This project was for an individual that I worked with who was retiring from the Navy. He wanted a shadow box but did not want something he would have to hang on his wall or display full time. The compromise was a chest with two sliding tills; one for the shadow box and one for odds and ends below. The chest was executed entirely with hand tools and made from white pine and walnut. The finish is milk paint with three coats of oil and wax.

David, love the sea chest is beautiful. Can you post a better picture of your Beckets? Did you do them yourself?
