This is a train bed that was completed in August 2012. It is on of several that train bed that we have built. Each time we change it either to make it better and/or to personalize it to the child.
This one was for Nixon so we put his name on the front of the train. We also put “Nixon Express” on the headboard, which is something new that we did.
Some other features on this one is the working night light on the front. It is controlled by a 3 stage touch sensor mounted on the bed side of the front cap.

Very nice work! One of the coolest beds I ever saw. The light is a nice touch, it brings it all together!

Brilliant! I love this! Do you do your own paint? Or does someone else come in and do that?
Also—why not have the ladder slats go flat to the ground? It seems as if when you crawl into bed you go with no shoes and with the ladder slats being vertical it would be a bit painful on the bottom of a foot (of course I carry a lot more weight than a 4 year old).
Also—-have you thought of boxes for storage being the climbing steps to get in—wheels in the shape of a hexagon to step onto and then climb into the train?
Great stuff…
