I’m turning my basement laundry room into a bathroom and this is the first of several planned projects for the room.
I didn’t want the vanity design to be so great that it diverted attention away from the beautiful glass sink and faucet. I wanted a vanity that was simple, but attractive and one that complemented the sink.
The towel rack doubles as a drawer pull. The drawer is U-shaped to accommodate the plumbing.
The hidden TP cubby will be within arms reach of the throne to provide immediate resupply.
Hidden compartments are always cool. I thought the TP cubby was clever and the wife loves it. That’s all that really matters, isn’t it?
The wood is Tineo. The sink is from Kraus.

Tineo is a South American hardwood. I picked some up on my last wood buying trip. This is just my second project using it. It finishes really nice, but all of the lumber (8/4) that I bought was twisted and cracked which made working it a pain.

“Hidden compartments are always cool.”
I agree. Saw a nightstand with 1 by material as baseboard. Dados and splines held the base to the outside of the frame, on the inside of the frame were dados that supported a thin shelf dadoed into the front piece of base. When you pulled the base away from the nighstand the shelf slid out with it.
