Finished up this one today. Love carving the teak and I’m exploring the availability of hardwood shingles for wings.
I’ve been using cedar for the wings but want to explore hardwoods. (might be easier to bend)
I’m still using scraps of reclaimed lumber laying around the shop for these projects.
Some local artisans have seen my works and have suggested a few studios and local shops in the area to put these carvings into.
I’ve so run out of room in the house.

These are awesome. I think on display for sale is a wise choice. Should do well.

Nice rhythm and flowing lines Jeff! It is always fun to experiment with different grain and texture elements. Keep on creating!!!!!!!!!!

Very graceful. Nice blending of grain with form. Put them out there. Those are a lot nicer than a lot of such things I’ve seen for sale. Good luck!
It was once suggested to me since I sold a couple things that it is important to sign your work, maybe develop some little ‘chop,’ a stamp or symbol that’s all yours.
Again, good luck! (Looks like you’ve got the skill.)
Have your say...
