I recently got interested in using vacuum to clamp and hold items for other operations. This is the pump and frame press I built. So far I’ve learned that vacuum can crush a guitar. ;-)

I see that you have a Joe Woodworker vacuum setup. I’ve bought most of the parts to convert my vacuum pump into this storage tank design.

I sure hope your joking about the guitar Bob! (right?) Maybe you could put a (oh sure now I can’t think of the name of it!) a closing valve to adjust the vac. Or have one that’s not so powerful. Gosh sounds like a Tim Taylor updo! LOL

I’ve wanted to get one of these systems myself. I was wondering last week where you went, as we hadn’t seen anything out of you for awhile. Are you still doing ok?

Hi Mark, I’m doing just fine, thanks for asking. I think this vacuum setup can do a lot if I can just figure it all out. The information and parts came from http://www.joewoodworker.com/veneering/welcome.htm

Bob, I definitely will stop and see you the next time I go work in Ohio. I live in Billings, MT but am originally from Centerburg in Knox county. Do you ever get lumber from Steve’s hardwoods up by Bucyrus? I have picked up some really nice stuff from him and had to walk away from much more. You do great work.
