My daughter put in her request for an orange bowl. This is hackberry died tangerine and lemon using Rit clothes dye. Fellow Lumberjock Daren explains the technique here. The bowl is 4” tall by 8” wide and has a wipe-on poly finish. The middle picture shows the beauty of the grain, but the over exposure of the photo washes out he color.

Trifern,
This is another beautiful bowl. I can tell that you are enjoying this, as well you should.
Thanks for the post. I am sure that your daughter loves the bowl.

Great looking bowl there trifern. Hope you get as much enjoyment from ‘bowling’ as I do. If it were any better they’d outlaw it or tax it to death. We’ve got a well guarded secret here!! Hope it don’t get out to far!! I used the Rit Dye process on some wood pieces through the years; glad to hear others have found it and improved upon it by using more than just one color. Keep the chips flying and be safe!
