This is a grease box I finished up today while waiting for glue to dry on another project. Its the 3rd one I have made and is the fall off of a piece I used to make a friend a grease box hence the name.

The wood is Figured Big Leaf Maple

It measures 5 1/8” long,1 7/8” wide and 2 1/4” tall.The compartment is around 1 1/8” deep.

The coloring is a couple different dyes/mixes.Cardinal red and bright yellow.Walnut.And then a mix of all 3.And the finish is a polish of beeswax/olive oil.

Thanks guys.

Tony- just a stopped cut.It was a cool looking pic but it decided to zoom itself so most of the coolness is chopped out.No ignorance.

That is beautiful and sweet indeed, love the maple. But forgive my ignorance , what exactly is a grease box, and what exactly are you gonna stash in there?

Lucas its to hold grease or wax for your tools, planes etc.I will stash some wax in it but a person could stash whatever would fit.

Can I store my mustache wax in there? I may make one for my wife to store her spermicidal jelly.

ScottyB(lol) I was under the impression that if you still used mustache wax then you didnt need spermicidal jelly,,unless.
