They are about 0.05” thick, i cut them on the tablesaw. make sure you use a thin strip rip jig like this http://lumberjocks.com/projects/71983 . then i used a cabinet scraper , and then 220 grit sandpaper

Lumberjoe here is a blog by closet guy for inspiration http://lumberjocks.com/closetguy/blog/9097 . basicly you’re gluing a big block then ripping it into then strips with a bandsaw or tablesaw
