This was a quick put together sandpaper box. It is made of basswood and was finger jointed at the corners. I do a lot of hand sanding and I found a lot of quartered sheets of sandpaper just laying a little of everywhere so That’s the reason for this box. Of course if I have a box I have to carve in it! He He He!!! Enjoy.

GEE’’’s all that beautiful work for a sandpaper box. I can imagine what your place must look like. Decorated toilet seat, decorated toilet paper holder etc. How cool. mike

you know… I watched the chipwood artists at the woodshow; I’ve seen other work (once I was shown their work) and I’ve always put the artistry on the “nice but I don’t need to try that” list.
But.. since I’ve seen YOUR work, my thoughts are changing. I might just have to give this a try. I’d like to have a box in my bathroom with a carved “Toilet Paper” label on the lid. (just kidding on the TP, but I do think I might want to have this beautiful art throughout the house… yah.. might just have to try it.

Rog,
I think your work is some of the best I’ve ever seen.

Karson, if I showed you the inside you would laugh because I’m a packrat and I have so many used pieces of sandpaper in it that you can’t see anything but paper. I know I should dispose of most of it. I think I will just do that. Thanks!
Dick, I still need to work on my designing stages. It takes me to long to get to the end design. Thanks!

Nice job Rog, but is that the chisel you used to carve the box with?

No Bill, I just layed it there to give you the idea of the size. I use only a knife when chip carving.
No Mark, but this has a similar gothic look to it like tracery.
