Cypress Adirondack chairs. Ceder planter.

The left chair is a little unconventional. It wasn’t until I had fabricated all the parts for both chairs assembly line style that I discovered a standard plan would not be big enough for my 6’3 frame. So rather then buying more lumber and redoing the back slats and front legs, I just built up. It might look a little silly but it’s comfortable and gave me the opportunity to add a cup holder.

These are truly timeless chairs. You did a good job on the construction and once again proved that there are no mistakes in woodworking but only the opportunity to add additional details. The addition to your chair was a nice adaptation of the original design.

Thanks for the post.

Great job! If my wife sees these, I’ll be making them.

I particularly like the planter. The Mrs has been asking for something along those lines and there you are posting just what she’s looking for. Very cool.

I like the one on the left, very unusual but also very nice.

I think your papa bear and mama bear chairs are great! I’m 6’4” and know the feeling of sitting in small chairs. The left looks pretty good to me (good move on the cup holder! :). Great job on the planter, too.
