Two Candle Holders Inspired by a couple of other LJs, I decided to try my hand at these Asian inspired pieces. Both are constructed of Jatoba and Corian solid surface coutertop scraps from a sink cutout. In the first, the material has been drilled about a quarter inch deep to accept tea lights, and in the second, drilled through to allow for glass votive holders to hang below the surface. The wood construction is the same on both, with lots of dado and half lap joints. The legs are angled at 10 degrees with the top and bottom rails dadoed in. The first is approx. 11 inches long, and the second 12 inches long. Finished with satin spray poly.

Very nice. Love the design and choice of material.

I like the asian influence. Perfect choice of materials.

Excellent design and workmanship, JB. I like it very much!

I really like the Asian styling of these candle holders. I might just have to make one myself!

Very well done! I like the second one the best, but both are nice designs.

Yes you did well on these.
Curious ,how did you hold the Corian in place ?
The Jatoba frames the Corian nicely and the colour contrast looks great ,have to try that combination on my next batch along with the angled leg design.
