This is a Murphy bed that was built as a request from a customer. It has a chalkboard front and pegboard sides. The front is basically my normal Alpine style with some chalkboard paint and a tray for the chalk.
When building the pegboard side I just enclosed the peg board in a frame, similar to a picture frame with a groove cut in the back. While assembling it I covered the cork board with newspaper. This way went I sprayed the finish I didn’t have to worry about taping off. It saved a lot of time. I just had to remove the paper when I was finished.

Chris,
This is an interesting bed and a unique design.
Very nicely done.
Thanks for the post.

Chris,
While most beds of this type are of the built in variety, it appears that you and your customer opted for a free standing design.
The finish product looks neat and trim; but you have also allowed for it to be repositioned, which adds to the functionality, good job.

Normand, also to make it easier to move around, the lower back has a cutout to fit around the base molding. This way it is a totally temporary installition.
