This was my first real piece of furniture I finished last year before I had all the elements of my shop together. I finished this with only a bandsaw, router table (cheap Porter cable one) and a planer. I got all the cherry from a friend for FREE. I saw the plans in Wood magazine and you know the feeling, “I got to build that”. This project taught me alot of joinery and finishing techniques. I played around with different stains and quickly found that minwax stain was not suitable, so it was finished with GF antique cherry dye stain, and top with minwax wiping poly.

Nice build…. The fun part is always learning something to apply to the next project, an ongoing and never ending pursuit for perfection and a fun time while were doing it.
