This past weekend we had the American Royal BBQ contest in Kansas City. This is the world series of BBQ contests. My good friend, Randy Hinck, has a competition BBQ team called Plow Boys BBQ. In 2009 he and his brother in law won the Invitational. This year the Invitational was won by Big Poppa Smokers. Big Poppa smokers is own by Sterling Ball of the famous Ernie Ball strings. I had an idea to have the winning teams sign my bed pan guitar. Well they all did as well as the cooks on Pit Master BBQ show. Pretty cool!

By the way the strings on my guitar are Ernie Ball Slinkys.

I am assuming that the bedpan is porcelin. How did you manage to make the holes without breaking off the coating?
By the way, it’s super cool!

If you look closely some porcelin did chip. I actually dropped it at the Royal and flake a little off but hey it is old. I predrilled 3-4 size holes to get it right. My next one will be blue speckled.

This would be a kick to make … now I have to go find a bed pan, powder coat it, and get started. I actually, like the white though.

Have your say...
