I custom built this for a fella on the east coast, the insert inside slides and is to hold cufflinks and odd an ends, the woods, the lid top is birds eye redwood and the bottom birds eye maple, sides are curly maple and the front and back are live edge maple burl, the bottom is cedar. I love the root handle in front I got a good scribe fit and it seems to seat nice when closed. All in all the natural wood tones seem to complement each other and it turned out to be a pretty solid project, i’ve been playing with it off and on for months.

Thanks for looking LJ’s keep the chips flying

I’ve been staring at this and can’t seem to start finding the proper words. Well, you’ve defined a new category in fine boxes, in my opinion. This will be copied, let me tell ya! Thanks for the inspiration :)

Now this is really nice. You did a fine job on it and it’s very unusual.

This project is kinda small for you! LOL This box is ?. I’m not sure what word or words describe it. I love the combination of woods and the handle is great. Thanks for sharing!

Unusually beautiful. The artistry in this is on the grand-slam level.

Very nice work.
