A friend is turning 60 next week and loves cats….so the wife wanted to give her a Cat Box. I found a pattern on line with the out side design, but I changed the drawers. It is made from a local grown wood called Monkey Pod…if you look very close to the back of the box, you might see some pink color in the wood. This box is about 13” tall, 4 1/2” thick and 7” across the bottom. Handles are made from Koa.

Very nice, Larry. I like all of your shaped boxes, especially the animal shaped ones. I thought we were buddies, but I am not listed in your buddy list.

I really like the woods you used. The drawers look nice in this cat.

Larry I’d like to grab this design for a Christmas gift if you don’t mind, I have some friends that are cat lovers and this would make a perfect gift.

Well the Cat box was accepted very well….my wife said she could hear her friend screaming happiness without the phone.. Yes of course Randy…help yourself….can you take the design from my post or would you like the design emailed to ya?

Donna we are buddies, but I’m not sure how to do that on this site. Thank you everyone for the good comments.

I was checking out your projects…I’ve always wanted to try a bandsaw bow ( just havent made the attempt yet). I decided to comment on this one because its neat, and I’ve actually had the privledge of refiinishing a monkey pod end table for my girlfriends Aunt. It was just a slab with 3 wobbly legs, but it was beautiful wood. I was happy to have had the opportunity to salvage such a nice piece of wood. Keep the monkey pod projects coming. I think everyone should get to view if not build with it.
