This is a toy car I made for my youngest daughters 2nd birthday. It was turned from a piece of birch that I turned on my lathe and split in half, which means there will be two cars. The second car is not yet ready.
The wheels were also turned on the lathe. I turned a recess in the wheels so that I could fit a piece of bicycle inner tube. This makes the car a bit less “aggressive” on our wooden flooring, and also quieter.
I got the inspiration for the car from Playsam Streamliner
Update, March 25, 2013: Added the second (red) car that is now finished. My daughter got it today at her 5th birthday.

Looks like this would fit perfectly into a 2 year old hand to race across the floor. Nice work. Does she get the other one too? Maybe red with black wheels – they you can race cars with her.
