This piece was carved in poplar. The carving is about 10 inches tall and an inch deep. It was made to become a keychain holder but I don’t have any pictures of the hooks attached. After I was done carving it I applied a coat of Danish Oil. After the Danish Oil was dry I colored it using oil paints thinned with Boiled Linseed Oil. This carving was a custom order.

Kenneth,
This is a wonderful carving. You have put some many details into the piece. I simply cannot imagine the patience and perseverance it takes to produce something like this.
Thanks for the post.

Great looking carving. Bears a striking resemblance to my Captain.

Great carving,
I like the way you combined the frame as part of the carving.
It looks like he means business.

Kenneth – this is really excellent. How big is it? I had a look at your other projects – your carvings are something else. Thanks for posting.

Thank you for all the comments.
Kerry,
The piece is about 10 inches tall and the board I used was an inch thick. I can’t tell you the exact measurements because I have a bad habit of not measuring a piece before I give it to the client.
Thank you,
Kenneth
