Outgrew the old one…or should I say over cluttered the old one. Just simple shelves out of a scrap 40” piece of 1×12. Wanted to throw something together to test out the new router table and try out Target’s EM6000 I just got. The table is a tank and the finish is sweet! As with any small project it was easier to batch out a few more than I needed. Last picture shows what was replaced.

Nice looking. I need one of these as well.

I think that I just found the inspiration for my kids’ rooms. They have medals and trophies to display and this should prove to be a great reference. Thanks!

Super design! Just what I have been needing to make to replace the “key bowl” that has been irritating me forever. I may have to laminate some thinner stock to get something that looks as good as yours, though.

Jpedi – No need to laminate any stock! These are 1x scraps. You can make 2 out of a 1×4x8 at your local lumber yard or big gox store. Keep it simple :) (they are 20” long by the way)

Scraps I have…... LOTS! I’m heavier on 2x stock but still have plenty of other 1x and ply to make way more stuff than I have time for…... he he…. yours just looked a bit thicker than 3/4. For a lot of things I like the look of 5/4 stock but most of what 5/4 I have is pressure treated #2 or worse. Fine if I am going for “character” rather than “fine”...... and I am pretty good at “character” pieces when I screw up the “fine” objective. I know I can always take a nicer 2x and make it into a a 5/4 and lotsa sawdust…..

Have your say...
