This was my first project but will definitely be the first of many. My wife wanted a farmhouse table for our dining room and after looking at how ridiculously expensive they can be I decided I was going to make one myself. All in all the cost of this table came out to around $150.
I used cedar 4×4 posts for the legs and everything else is construction grade 2×4’s, 2×6’s and 2×8’s. I used a standard minwax stain and a tung oil finish. I think I might add another coat of the tung oil just to give it a little more durability but I really don’t want it to come out too glossy so I will probably wait a while before I do that.
