Round end table, top is a nice pice of highly figured big leaf spalted maple. The legs are bubinga and are a compounded, tapered elliptical shape. There was a lot of hand work to be done, to get the legs to their final shape. The legs are joined together with intersecting mortis and tenons. Underneath the top, are stretchers that lap each other, and rest in pockets notched in the top of each leg. Despite a Ton of sanding that had to be done by hand. I still had a lot of fun with the project. It is finished with four coats of tongue oil. Then four coats of laquer on the top, and two coast on the legs. I owe a shout out to a fellow LJ member. I cant remember who they were, but they made a pice similar. That gave me the idea for this one. Thanks to all for any comments or suggestions.
