This is a vertex click pen made in Chrome and Ebony made for a Co-worker.
Finish: PSI Gloss Sealer, PSI High Gloss lacquer, buffed with the Beall Buffing system.
Thoughts: I am still having issues getting the absolute shine I am looking for, even with the buffing system. This finish is good, but could be better. If you have suggestions let me know.
PS: No, I don’t want to use CA glue. I hate using it as it is.

Try this: http://www.woodcraft.com/product/2083644/35704/general-finishes-wood-turners-finish-8oz.aspx
Turns as just as beautiful as a CA, same shine, but none of the hassles/problems of CA. :)

That’s an attractive pen. How high are you sanding? A finish can only be so good as the prep job beneath it. I use these up to 12,000 on every small project now, and almost any finish polished on top of the sanding job works well.

Thanks, I will try that. I have heard good things about general finishes.

Barb,
I sand to 400 grit with regular paper then I go through the different pads supplied by PSI which takes it up to 12,000. After that I use EEE.
I think that is a pretty good system… They are smooth, I just wanted a higher buff on this last one.
