This was some reclaimed firewood that had been laying around for about 2 years. When I finally got around to splitting it this is what cale out and I had to do something with it.. coated with 3 coats lauqer and bowling alley wax.
Bowling alley wax works amazing on cast Iron surfaces as well.

That is the finest spalting I have ever seen. Well done on makeing the bowls. If you would like to sell afew pieces I would love to turn something out of it.

That’s great! Nice to see that piece of firewood not go to waste. I can’t tell you how many times I had pieces like that go to waste because I didn’t have a lathe to turn them at the time, Now I do!!!

Lovely spalting ! Is this Ambrosia Maple ? Looks a bit different than the Western Big Leaf Maple I have.
