Nice cradle, grandpa! My oldest daughter is expecting her 3rd child in December. Thought about making a cradle for her, but haven’t seen any that I like very much. Yours is the nicest I have seen. Did you design it or get plans from somewhere ???

Very nice, great finishing touch. If my wife’s Great x4 grandfather hadn’t built our current cradle I’d have been working on one for my son who is due in a couple weeks.

mcgbanker: It is my own design, I posted the original previously, so you can see it in better detail, by searching in my older posts. I am particularly fond of the cross brace I used.

Sorry to say, but I think the “final touch” maybe overshadows your grand effort, nice try, but mother nature will always win handsdown,

I agree with peteg, that the ‘final touch’ perhaps overshadows your effort. That being said I think the ‘Cradle’ is Gorgeous and that you did an outstanding job!! Oh, by the way we have 8 grandchildren!! Congratulations Grandpa!!
Thanks for sharing…...........Both!!

I noticed that there are more pics of the grandkid than there are of the cradle….are you trying to say the kid is cooler?
I agree! Congrats!
(Great job on the cradle, by the way….)

I would not have put the cradle in the picture at all except “degoose” gets a little testy about stuff like that.
My Mom has 8 kids, 17 Grandkids, & and a whopping 38 Great Grandkids. She has never seen them altogether at one time. But it would surly be a news worthy photo.

I looked at the older post, lizardhead. I agree that the bowtie cross brace is quite nice. Excellent work that I am sure will be cherished for many years to come.
Nothing like grandchildren to keep one occupied in a woodshop!
Have your say...
