Not sure if you folks are familar with Pinterest, but it’s kinda cool for project ideas…..especially if there is a lady in your life. A friend of a friend knows I do a little woodworking, and sent me a link to a necklace holder made from a piece of molding and used upholstery tacks as the holders…...I made her one and she loved it!!! Soon after, the first friend decided she would like something similar. As one who always tries to modify something, I decided to go a different route…...picked up a 1.5”x1.5”x3’ red oak blank, and with a few different router bits I came up with my own molding….....used #6 carpet tacks for a kinda rustic look and coated the piece with a little wax…....I think it turned out kinda nice, and only took a couple hours….....I’m also most proud of the fact that there are no burn marks on the wood…..I usually get in a bit of a hurry and burn the pi$$ out of stuff on the router.
Later,
joe

Oh yeah, it’s pretty obvious from the 3rd picture, but I put a dovetail across the back to hang on the wall….....should have probably used a straight bit and stopped short of each end….....but you know what they say about hindsight…....

That’s a great profile that you created….so good in fact, I might have to “borrow” it from you !

Sounds like a plan to me Dusty…....ogee on top, then a cove up from underneath…....finished up with the same cove on the bottom…....have fun!
