This looks like a truss bridge design. If it is, then I think you’re missing the vertical pieces that counteract the compressive forces produced by the diagonal pieces. You can probably add steel cables between the upper and lower beams to provide the necessary tension.

Thanks for the observation; Ordinarily that is correct; here we used thin plywood webbing under the sheetrock;
Considering the load and the span, it is overkill.
