This started out as one board, and I had some scrap leftover, so I figured I could add another board, using two strips from the endgrain board for the sides. The pics did not work out as well as I hoped, but the boards will make my mom smile. It was my grandpa who sparked my interest in woodworking. With grandpa’s guidance from above, I will continue to develop my woodworking skills. I look forward to my next project! Thanks for taking a peek!

Great looking boards! I really like the checkered one. Did you follow any particular plan or article or anything on the design, or figure out everything on your own?

Thanks Chris, I used a program to design it, CBDesigner. I think I found it on LJ’s. I used General Finishes Salad Bowl finish. I had trouble with the bloodwood, as it bubbled when I put the finish on. Not sure if I used to much finish at a time. I need to find a different finish, as I really like the way the bloodwood looks.
