I have been working on this project for waaaaaay too long! Fortunatley the church wasn’t waiting to have a pulpit until this one was done. :)
I am pleased to say that it is finished and ready to be taken to the church. It is funny how picky I can be about my work when I know that people other than my immediate family will see it on a regular basis. It’s not perfect but neither am I. I am happy with it’s final state and ready to move it in tomorrow.
The design was taken from some pictures and measurements that our Pastor took when attending a conference for Pastors. Everything you see except for the basic 5 sided design was something that I came up with. I have never designed a project like this before and it was quite an experience. That is part of the reason why it has taken me about a year and 9 months to complete it! Most of it I didn’t know what to do so I spent a lot of time second guessing myself.
The wood is beech with an ebony drawer pull and the finish is satin poly.
I hope you enjoy seeing it and thank you for looking!

Very nice work Brett. I really like the strip of wood across the top to hold a second row of books. That is a good idea that I haven’t seen before. I can see where the small drawer would be very handy also.

Brett that is a very nice Pulpit
The design is nice and clean
Your finish is great.
It is a wonderful thing to make for the
place that you worship.
I cant see a single fault, picky yes but that
is what pushes you forward.
Sit in the front pew with pride and enjoy.
I’m sure everyone else will.

Beautiful work, beautiful piece of woodwork. I am sure you were helped along the way by a far greater power. Sure you will be blessed for this piece of art work.

Super work Brett! Quite a design. Your pastor should be able to keep enough supplies there to last several days. LOL. Congratulations on a beautiful project that will be treasured by many for years to come.

Thank you everyone for for kind words and compliments! Hopefully today, after work, I will move it into the building and get a picture of it in place.
Thank you once again!

Brett,
Very attractive and functional pulpit design. Plenty of room for Bible, notes, and commentaries.
