I picked this piece of wood up last weekend, at Klingspor’s Woodshop. I have been looking for a nice piece of wood, so I can turn something for my future in-laws. They let me keep my lathe at their farm, which is about a mile from my house, so I wanted to give them a little something. It is made from Manzanita Myrtly “teardrop” and has a diameter of 7 3/4” and is 2” high. I don’t know anything about the “teardrop” figure, so if I was misinformed, please let me know what the figure really is. I have 3 coats of Arm-R-Seal satin on it so far, and I still need to sign it. Sorry for the terrible pictures…..misplaced my good camera.

Hi Trey,
This is a nicely figured bowl. I am sure your future in-laws will love it.
Thanks for the post.
