Dragons along with Tigers are my favourites for carving. This project is a combination of Scroll Sawing,
Carving and Pyrography and applying the finishing varnish. This was one on a slab of pine 3 foot x 1 foot.
Have added Photo of head and tail to show the amount of burning involved.

Bob,
This is an interesting piece. I simply cannot imagine the effort that it would take to produce something like this.
This is truly a work of art.
Thanks for the post.

I’m just curious … was your scroll saw hungry for more wood about an hour after you finished? lol
That’s an amazing piece … thanks for sharing!

That is the coolest piece of woodworking art that I’ve ever seen. I admire your talent and the patience you have to do such fine detail work. Bob, you rock. Great stuff. I hope you’ll post more examples.
-- Made lots of sawdust and pounded some nails. Haven't finished anything, though.

Thanks to everyone for the great comments and encouragement. To know that others appreciate your work makes everything worth while. After browsing this great site and seeing the brilliant wood working projects posted by others I really had second thought of posting the dragon. So glad I did.
To Lip. Hey, at times I had wished the scroll saw had eaten the lot more of the wood. I have fed it since and working on a couple more projects.

Thanks for the comment Dan. Where else would a wood worker be but in the shop.
