Have to give a talk at a woodworking seminar our club is involved in. It is part of weekend long arts festival.
Lacombe Culture and Harvest Festival. http://www.heartoflacombe.ca/lacombe-culture-and-harvest-festival.
We have two seminars, one on artistic woodworking and one called “Gee I could make that”
The second involves three presentations. Mine “The 5 board bench” #2 Christmas Toy Making #3 Violin Making.
We start off simple and get more difficult by #3.
Here’s a version of the 5 board bench with few modifications to change the the style with very simple additions.
The bench is made form Western Red Cedar fence boards. It took (3) three 5 foot x 5 1/2” boards to make the bench. Didn’t make it totally with hand tools because of time constraints however have done in the past and it it very satisfying to do. The people I give them too seem to like them very much. Next one will be maple with pegs instead of screws.
The dimensions ar 12”x 24” top, 10 1/2” x 18” feet, and 3’ x 23” braces. The angle is 10 degrees.
