My new bookcases, ignore the opening casing still working on that. Took me three months to build these and learned a lot- the biggest lessons are:
1. Houses are REEAAALLY crooked
2. Do not use oak plywood unless you want the oak texture
3. Hold on to wood when using router table (lets just say things went flying and i nearly lost a finger or two
4. Things are never as easy as expected.
Next project is the coffered ceilings. Thanks everyone for the paint tips-ended up using oil based primer with Sherwin williams pro classics acrylic latex enamel = no sticking!! :D

I relate to the crooked house lesson. Our condo is so crooked in places I can’t even get the light switch covers to lay flat. The bookcases are really beautiful…. and I especially like the ‘asymmetry’ of it. And the white is ‘knock out’ with the wall colors.

-- I just got done cutting three boards and all four of them were too short. (true story)

Wow! You do great work!

Please blog your progress on the coffered ceiling. I need to do that and don’t know how.

(When I did my trim around the house, I concluded that the whole world was crooked and the house was straight.)
