CPO's vessel

Without going into too much detail, I thought I’d share these with everyone. This is a vessel to hold a treasured item for the Chief Petty Officer (CPO) community of the US Navy. Both of these vessels were made for 2 retiring Master Chiefs that never had one of their own.
On one you’ll notice the blade burn marks. I meant to sand them away, but I was asked to leave them in….for character.
Both are made with the same material, a laminate of a mixture of pine.

Very nice vessels… wish I had put that sort of time and effort into mine. My skills weren’t at that level then, and they probably still aren’t.

wish i had the opportunity to use my shop to make a vessel , wanna know the definition of irony ? having a full blown work shop at home and the one time you actually need not want it you are deployed and cant use it …..
