My Italian landlord saw me doing some woodwork in the garage and asked me to build his daughter a piggy bank. After we sat down to discuss exactly what he wanted (and translated it), it turned he wanted an album to catalog the different types of coins she had acquired. The only idea I could come up with was a book of sorts. This was the result.
There are 6 pages glued to each side of 3 plywood planks. Each side is a different type of currency. I attached dowels to each spine of the pages and insert them into the sides of the box to allow for the pages to turn.
The wood is a laminate of different types of pine.

What a Novel idea! Each turn of a page brings new surprises. You really thought that one through. Great idea, and I’ll bet his daughter was pleased. Very nice work!
