I enjoyed making this. I have an addiction to cherry, so you can imagine what this was made with. For the offsetting light wood, I decided bird’s eye maple would do the job.
The top opens up to hold the chess pieces as well as other game pieces like checkers, othello…...

60, This is beautiful work. I wish you had included shots of the inside, a higher angle, and dimensions so we could better appreciate your artistry. Your cherry coffee table with the glass inserts looks nice too. Is cherry a native wood in Italy? You can add 5 more pictures any time you wish. Thanks for sharing. Keep boxing and keep posting.

Most of my work was done in Japan. Italy, sad to say, doesn’t have much of a selection (walnut, olive, and pine) and its hard to find. I’m still quite the novice so you’ll see a lot of flaws in my work. In the future I’m hoping to get some training in order to improve. Thanks for the compliment; I’ll be sure to take more pics.
