I tried a little bigger bandsaw box this time. 11 X 7 X 5
Walnut and Maple and since the box is too wide for my bandsaw so I couldn’t cut off the back, I left it open and shaped a piece of Sycamore I had laying around to fit the back. The drawer pulls are store-bought at Hobby Lobby as my wife thought they went perfectly, so I used some amber shellac to mellow out the pine. Several coats of Poly and black flocking inside the drawers. Thanks for looking and constructive criticism is always welcome.
I just noticed that on the third and fourth drawers, there seems to be some light spots. Maybe it’s the camera or my lighting, but they are not on the actual project.

WOW indeed, classy and elegant. I think the light spots you are seeing are reflections in the high gloss finish … I use alot of satin to help hide my boo-boos.

DocSavage, never thought of handles. What would they look like and where would they go?
Could be interesting!

Blackie – coming from a bandsaw guy like you, that is quite a compliment!
Can I show my gratitude by “borrowing” some of your designs? US

Nice design and great job cutting, sanding, and finishing. Ya just can’t beat that walnut/maple combination.

Was thinking maybe a flatened s shap out of a wood that matched the heartwood pattern? the other thought was a pulltab that extends from top of drawer. Check out James Krenov’s drawers. Pretty exciting stuff takes a piece up several notches.

Sorry Doc, when you said handles, what flashed into my mind was handles like on a jug or coffee cup.
Sometimes my brain doesn’t work right! I usually DO make handles that reflect the shape of the drawers or box (see my Heart Box Project), but this time my wife had a little input and it sounded good to me.
She is a painter and makes jewelry too, and has saved my butt on several occasions.
Thank you for the input!!!
