The woodworking group of which I am a member, Central Indiana Woodworkers just had a contest.
What can you make from 1 piece 2×4 by 8 ft construction grade lumber (wall stud). As woodworkers, I’m sure you can come up with some ideas. I took pictures of the entries. Because there are more than 6 entries, I am posting the pictures using Microsoft Skydrive. (PS my entry is in there, but I did not win) The link that you use is as follows https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resid=B7C0D2C0C40E88DB!136&authkey=!APG8vedAloHATcc
I have posted pictures here of the top three winners.

This was a neat contest. Almost seem they wiped up and glued the sawdust to get enough material for some of them.

Yes, on my project (the basket weave planter) I used all the 2×4 except for a couple of small slivers. The person who made the chair said that the hardest part of the project was designing the chair to use all the 2×4. He showed a small piece of wood about 1 inch square by 4 inches. and stated this was all that was left. He joked, if he knew that he had this left over, he could have added about 1 inch to the chair leg length.
