It has been a little over 2 years since my wife and I adopted our son and I put my part time custom furniture business on hold to spend time with my family. After a two year hiatus I am happy to report I am back making furniture.
Check out my latest project for the California Earthquake Authority and the American Red Cross. I was honored to be asked to design and build The Traveling Red Table™ for The Great California Shakeout™.

Dimensions: 36”d x 48”w x 42”h when closed. The table expands to 138” when all 7 leaves are in.
Materials: Hard Maple, MDF and Melamine inserts for autographs.
Finish: Transtint Red Dye with Water-Borne urethane top coat.

this is amazing! so glad that you are back in the shop…

I too am on a hiatus…left Napa to move to So-Cal to take care of my mom…leave of absence from teaching (scary now just my wife working) but did bring both sail boats to So-Cal…so I hope to be moving again on each soon…now that things are slowing down…

the table is amazing! your craftsmanship has clearly NOT lost a step…good luck with everything…

Hi Matt,

Nice to hear from you. I was silently following your boat building progress and found the whole process fascinating so I am glad to know that you are still at it.

Wow! The mere fact that this is a HUGE “expandable” table just knocks the socks off of me! Very cool, and for a really neat cause to boot! Thanks for sharing!
