I created this book for my girlfriend for Christmas. She’s a great poet and I thought how cool it would be to cement her poems in a beautiful wooden book with permanent pages. The frame is black walnut, and the cover is Coco Bolo. The hinge is made out of a leather belt that i’ve had for almost ten years. This is the first “fine woodwork” I’ve done and look forward to creating many more and developing my skills all the way to the grave.

Steve,
This is a nice project. I love the look of the coco bolo. It is such a gorgeous wood.
Thanks for the post.
