A few more cutting boards from that pile of wood I got on CL a wile back. These do not have a fancy layout like some but then I again I’m using some pretty rough wood to make these. The board in picture two is mineral oil finished and will be given to the person I got all the wood from. I really wanted to see how well the Tried & True Danish Oil (safe for food) would hold up on a cutting board so I put that on the boards in pictures 3 & 4. What really surprised me was how much the end grain board soaked up the BLO. Any ways I ended up putting about 5 coats on both boards with the last 2 applied with steal wool. Also found if applied very thin it would be ready for another coat after sitting over night.

When I made the first ones back in the spring my wife convinced me I that I need to make a few more for Christmas presents for her family. But her Idea and my idea of a few are different things because she has 10 brothers and sister! So that means with my family and hers plus a few friends I have about 20 boards I need to make for Christmas so I better get busy or they will not get done in time.

The endgrain boards are fantastic…so colorful : )
I only use Mineral Oil on my boards , sometimes mixed with BeesWax.

Those are definitely some nice looking boards there!
