Nicely done. I like how you incorporated the small branch in the look. Most would have missed the thought and cut it off. Shows imagination. Sadly lacking in the world today.

Thanks everyone. It is the first lamp. We also made a Manzanita lamp. Working on a floor lamp now. It is hard to work something that is one piece and so big. Have any of you worked with Manzanita and if so, how do you prevent it from checking? I would love to work with the ones that are not dead yet but they check.
I had a suggestion from my dad. He said to strip the bark and soak it a week in water then put it in a dark cool place to dry out. Someone else said that I should wrap copper wire around each end to let it dry and that will prevent the checking.
Any other ideas I should try as I have found the perfect bush but I do not want to take it because I do not want all the checking.
