Been making more Billy Clubs and a lot of pens. Haven’t listed anything for some time. Here goes:
-Black and Blue Colorwood turned with finger grip handle, and brass painted sections.
-Red and Black Colorwood turned with a traditional beaded handle, trimmed in brass paint.
-Autumn Colorwood, with an odd handle trimmed in brass
-A very nice Camo Colorwood with fingergripped handle, black trim and 3 beads on the end of the club.
Lots of color and they were fun to make. All finished in sprayed on conversion varnish. Thanks for looking!
-Mike

These are all really nice. I like the way you incorporate painted surfaces with wood.

I love these. – another project for the list!I need one of these to keep Rance in line!
In the 80’s, while I was in the Marine Corps station at Kaneohe, I once turned a beautiful koa wood club for a HPD (Hawaiian cop) because I was sure I’d get the whole department wanting one and make a million! Well he took it in to use on duty!
Yje next day, I asked him how things went. He said everyone love it and wanted to know where they could get one!! I was headed for my shop ( a Shopsmith I rolled out of a shed into our car port – my wife’s gift to me) when I heard him say – ”......but I told them I’m the only one who’s gonna own one.”
He wouldn’t tell any of his buddies where he got it.
I should have gone to the station myself!

Interesting, I almost never see billy clubs on here and just bought the lumber for making about 75 of them to be given as awards at an upcoming tournament. These give me some great ideas. Thank you.
