This bookshelf was a product of necessity. My wife and I simply had no more place to put our books and we didn’t want to have them collecting dust in boxes any longer. This is actually the first of about 6 this size so they can be stacked and arranged as needed. This was also made completely out of hand tools. I went from rough sawn stock to a completely finished bookshelf without a single powertool touching it. The carcass is dovetailed and the shelfs are sitting in dados. The back is made of shiplapped boards nailed on. Each board has one edge beaded with a scratchstock. The finish is linseed oil.
