Project Information

Here is my latest project. I took the design from the Wood Whisperer and then added a little twist. I put it on casters and made just the right height so it would work as an outfeed table for my table saw. The top is a torsion box made with 3/4" MDF. This table not only has a great amount of shop storage, but it gives me an outfeed table/assembly table/workbench.

Very nice, it has a great shine to it! What did you use as a finish?

MW Wipe on Poly. I used about 5 coats of the satin finish.

Very nicely done. Having a work surface that large will be very handy I'm sure!

Great shop project, functional and very nicely done.
Now you have more additional hidden storage - frequent you shop time or you may forget you have many good tools to use.

Well done. Nothing like multi-purpose projects. Storage, workbench, outfeed - great planning.

Mike - incredible work table. I wish we could have spent more time together on projects together while I was still in NC. I can't wait to see the many things you will create on this table. Daily Top 3 on Lumberjocks!! Awesome!!

Looks great !! Are you gonna put miter slots in the top?

Kdc68 - I made the table just low enough that anything I use my miter slots for will slide over the table.

Mike Merzke - Wish I would have thought of that. I just built an outfeed table for my saw. It too doubles as an assembly table. But I made it flush with the saw table and routed slots for the miter guage.
